New Weapon Idea

I was pondering today about what I might want to have as a suitable weapon of choice and I thought of a weapon that would be both beneficial for myself and possibly beneficial for others. It's a type of sword that is Switch knife style - it comes as a small object that, when flicked out, elongates into a usable weapon. I thought it would be intriguing to give a go, and to see what others thought. Note, this idea is in beta, and is therefore expected to be revised by others to make the most pertinent weapon from this idea.

Are you thinking something like lightning's sword from Final Fantasy?  Or more like the fake lightsaber toys they have at target, but with metal instead of plastic?

Excellent question, Nomaru. I was actually thinking about it being like lightning's sword from Final Fantasy, just a little less complicated (only one movement). This would basically be a longer form of a Swiss army knife. However, I shall leave it up to you and others. If you would rather it be like the fake lightsabers at Target, then be my guest. Either are viable options.

Just trying to understand. I like the concept. Maybe it could be a stylistic feature, like different shaped weapons. Meaning that it wouldn't really affect the strength or weaknesses of the sword, just how you "draw" it from the sheath.

will there be bows and other long range type weapons?

Sao has no bows,- nova will though. and so will the lost age

I'm thinking about if SAO will have warblades, like double swords and the likes of it
